Afeson-led administration came into office on December 4,2020 but had failed to conduct another election till now under the guise of crisis to ensure its tenure continuity.
Therefore, the National Association Of Nigerian Students(NANS) has fixed Friday,12th August 2022 to inaugurate the acting National president.
According to comrade Usman Muhammed, Secretary Zone A Stakeholders Forum said the action is in line with the association’s new constitution as the amended article.
Article 15: Elections sub-section one states that the NANS year shall be from the end of one convention to the end of the next convention and this shall be a maximum of fifteen (15) months.
He went further saying if, at the end of 15 months which starts counting from the previous convention, another convention had not taken place. Then, all the serving officials will be relieved of their duties while the regional coordinator in the zone in which the NANS president is supposed to be rotated will take charge and conduct a convention within a maximum of 45day, of course with the help of other coordinators.
