Gavi Suffers Serious Knee Injury in Euro 2024 Qualifier Against Georgia

In a bittersweet victory for Spain during their Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia,

the national team secured a 3-1 win in their final Group A match.

However, the triumph was overshadowed by the unfortunate injury to Barcelona midfielder Gavi.

The 19-year-old, a pivotal player for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team, suffered a serious knee injury after being tackled from behind. Gavi, who emerged through Barcelona's La Masia youth academy, left the pitch in tears, and the Spanish football federation confirmed the severity of the injury to his right knee.

Despite the setback, Spain finished the qualifying round at the top of Group A with 21 points, having won seven out of eight matches, with their only defeat coming against second-placed Scotland, who also secured qualification for the Euro 2024 finals with 17 points.
