Gunmen claim life of Igbo Monarch

Gunmen have tragically claimed the life of Eze Joe Ochulor, the traditional ruler of Otulu community in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state.

The monarch was abducted by unidentified gunmen on the morning of November 25, 2023, and later discovered lifeless on the roadside in Mbutu community, situated in the neighboring Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area on the same night, as reported by an anonymous source on Sunday.

Expressing the heightened sense of fear within the community, the source recounted, "There is fear everywhere. Villagers are afraid because the traditional ruler was taken from his home on Saturday morning, only for his lifeless body to be found on the same Saturday. This is horrifying."

Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the state police, confirmed the monarch's murder and assured the public that the police command is committed to apprehending the perpetrators. The State Commissioner of Police has initiated a manhunt for the killers, and Okoye stated,

"The command is open to anybody with useful information that will lead to the swift arrest of the suspects. We are assuring the public that this development is not above us. The CP is on top of the situation."
