Ajax coach John van 't Schip has confirmed the club's interest in signing former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. Talks are reportedly underway for Henderson's potential transfer, and while he still has matters to sort out in Saudi Arabia, Ajax sees him as a valuable addition to their squad.
Henderson, who joined Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia in July 2023, is unsettled, and Ajax is among the clubs vying for his signature. The Eredivisie side is open to paying a small transfer fee, aiming to secure a permanent move rather than a loan.
If an agreement isn't reached soon, Ajax may explore alternative midfield options.
