Biden Decides Response to Iran-Backed Drone Strike on US Troops in Jorda

US President Joe Biden confirmed that he has made a decision on how to respond to the recent Iran-backed drone strike that killed three U.S. troops in Jordan.

Biden expressed his reluctance to be drawn into a wider war in the Middle East but accused Iran of supplying weapons to the militia responsible for the attack.

There are considerations within the White House to launch strikes on multiple Iranian military assets in the Persian Gulf, with various options presented to Biden by military leaders.

The retaliation could occur in the coming days amid escalating tensions in the region. Biden emphasized that he doesn't seek a broader Middle East war.

The president's decision follows a meeting with his security team in the White House Situation Room. Republicans have called for strikes inside Iran, while Democrats urge restraint to prevent escalation. The US has vowed a decisive response to the drone attack on its troops in Jordan.
