Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced that kidnappers will no longer be granted bail. He issued this directive during a security town hall at the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
Wike instructed the chairmen of the six Area Councils in the FCT to conduct mandatory monthly security meetings to enhance security in their respective areas.
He emphasized that failure to hold these meetings would be viewed as a threat to Abuja's security.
Wike pledged government support, including providing necessary equipment and operational vehicles for security agencies.
He stressed the importance of collaboration among local authorities, traditional leaders, and security agencies to address security challenges effectively.
