The Lagos State Government Announces Third Mainland Bridge Closure for Repairs on January 9, 2024

The Lagos State Government has declared that the Third Mainland Bridge will undergo repairs starting on Tuesday, January 9. Although the bridge was temporarily reopened on December 21 after a previous closure in November 2023, this closure aims to facilitate the ongoing repair works on specific sections of the bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, stated that the Iyana Oworonshoki-Adeniji Adele section would be closed for comprehensive repairs.

To manage traffic, specific timings have been established, allowing Mainland inbound Island travelers access during certain hours and directing others to use the Eko Bridge.
