Paralympian Oscar Pistorius has been released on parole from a South African prison, nearly 11 years after being convicted of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius, who served over half of his more than 13-year sentence, was allowed to return home under strict conditions, including restrictions on media communication.
Reeva Steenkamp's mother accepted the decision but emphasized that her family is enduring a life sentence without their loved one. Pistorius claimed he mistook Steenkamp for a burglar when he shot her multiple times through a door in 2013.
The release has sparked discussions on justice and the impact on Steenkamp's family.
