Killer Mike, the 48-year-old rapper whose real name is Michael Render, has been arrested and booked for "misdemeanor battery" following an alleged physical altercation backstage at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The incident occurred just after Killer Mike won three awards, including Best Rap Album for "Michael," Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance for "Scientists and Engineers" featuring Andre 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane.
Footage captured by the Hollywood Reporter showed the rapper being handcuffed and escorted out by Los Angeles police at Crypto Arena.
He was celebrating his victories before being detained. The LAPD confirmed the arrest and stated that Killer Mike is in the process of being released. The rapper's representative has not yet commented on the incident.
