Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, praised Zaidu Sanusi for his performance in their victory against the Palancas Negras of Angola. Despite previous criticisms, Peseiro acknowledged that Zaidu did well in the 1-0 win.
The Porto defender has faced scrutiny for not meeting the expected standards for Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Peseiro defended Zaidu, stating that it's challenging to play in their current system (3-4-3), requiring extensive running and defensive responsibilities.
Although acknowledging a few mistakes, the coach overall commended Zaidu's performance in the game. Zaidu has been a constant presence in Nigeria's lineup, playing in all five games at the AFCON 2023 finals.
