Man Drags Girlfriend to Court Over False Pregnancy Allegation

Farouk Solihu appeared before an Area Court in Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State, on Tuesday, February 13, accusing his girlfriend, Kehinde Garba, of falsely claiming that he impregnated her.

Solihu claimed that Garba lied about him being responsible for her pregnancy, stating that another man was the father. He stated that Garba had reported him to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with the false allegation.

In response, Garba insisted that Solihu was indeed responsible for her pregnancy and accused him of trying to deny paternity.

The presiding Judge, Malam AbdulQadir Umar, instructed Garba to provide evidence supporting her claim. He stated that she needed to prove Solihu's responsibility for her pregnancy through valid documentation or witness testimony.

The case was adjourned until March 19, 2024, for further proceedings.
