President Tinubu Condemns Killing of Nigerian Army Officers in Delta State



President Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of Nigerian Army officers in Beomadi council area of Delta State. The officers were ambushed, captured, killed, and decapitated by youths from Okuama community while on a rescue mission for a kidnapped youth.


The attack resulted in the deaths of a Commanding Officer, two Majors, one Captain, and twelve soldiers, as well as one civilian during the gun battle that ensued. President Tinubu described the incident as a direct affront on the nation and assured that the perpetrators will not go unpunished.


In a statement released on Sunday, March 17, President Tinubu expressed his grief over the needless death of the soldiers and extended his condolences to their families, colleagues, and loved ones. He commended the heroism, courage, and patriotism of the fallen soldiers and reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring peace and tranquility in every part of Nigeria.


The Defence Headquarters and Chief of Defence Staff have been authorized to bring the offenders to justice, and President Tinubu affirmed that his government will not relent until peace is restored across the nation.
