Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has undergone a successful surgery in Saudi Arabia following an injury sustained while playing for Saudi club Al Ittihad last month. The injury had caused her to miss Nigeria's 2024 Olympic Games qualifier against South Africa's Banyana Banyana.
Plumptre, formerly of Leicester City, announced the news of her surgery on her X account, thanking Al Ittihad, the national team, and her fans for their support. She expressed gratitude for the support during her recovery process, stating that she is looking forward to returning to full health and rejoining her teammates soon.
