Prophetess arraigned over murder of church member

 


The General Overseer of the All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke, Ifedore local government, in Ondo state, Prophetess Serah Abuloye has been charged with the alleged murder of a member of her church.


 


The 49-year-old Prophetess who was arraigned on two count charges of conspiracy and murder is accused of killing and dumping 37- year- old Adefunke Aselogbon in a bush behind her church on January 6, 2022.


The prophetess is accused of committing the offence at about 4.00 am along Isarun Road, Igbara-oke in Ondo State Magisterial District.


Police Prosecutor, Obalasa Ajiboye noted that the offences are contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006. 


 


He also asked the court to remand the defendant to Correctional centers custody pending the outcome of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).


 

Counsel to the defendant, Mrs. Ola Adedire, did not oppose the prosecutor’s application.


Presiding Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni ordered the remand of the defendant in police custody and adjourned the case till February 18, 2022, for ruling on remand application.
