In Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, a thief found himself compelled to consume a raw chicken after being caught in the act in the Pumula suburb.
Upon apprehension, the thief explained that he was driven by desperation, citing the "January disease" – a colloquial term referring to the financial strain many face at the start of the year after extravagant spending during the festive season.
Despite his plea for mercy, the merciless group showed no sympathy. They gave him an ultimatum: either eat the stolen chicken raw or face a severe beating. Reluctantly, the thief opted to consume the uncooked chicken while onlookers captured the scene with their cellphones.
A resident from the Pumula suburb shared, “With blood dripping from the corner of his lips, he would occasionally cough out a feather or two as he screwed up his face like someone swallowing the bitterest gall. The beatings, somehow, were worse for him as he ate the obviously unpalatable meal to stop them. I think he will never eat chicken or white meat again, for as long as he lives.”
