LaLiga has announced its intention to investigate a complaint filed by Getafe, alleging that Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham called Mason Greenwood a "rapist" during their recent match. The incident supposedly occurred in Madrid's 2-0 victory over Getafe on February 1.
Spanish radio station Cadena SER initially reported the complaint, and LaLiga has confirmed its awareness, stating that it will employ a lip-reading service to assess the situation before deciding on any further actions.
Mason Greenwood joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United in September, following a criminal investigation into allegations of attempted rape, which prosecutors later closed in February 2023, citing the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material.
Greenwood has consistently denied the accusations. The outcome of the LaLiga investigation will determine whether any action will be taken against Jude Bellingham for the alleged insult.
