French President Macron Asserts Nuclear Readiness in Response to Putin's Threats

French President Emmanuel Macron has declared France's readiness to use nuclear weapons in response to threats made by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Macron criticized Putin for his nuclear threats and emphasized that France also possesses an advanced weapons program.

In a statement to French media on Thursday, Macron condemned Putin's remarks, stating, "We must first and foremost feel protected because we are a nuclear power. We are ready; we have a doctrine for the use of nuclear weapons." Macron emphasized the need for responsibility in handling nuclear weapons and criticized Russia's willingness to issue nuclear threats.

Macron's comments mark a shift in France's stance towards Russia, as he has abandoned efforts to maintain a closer bond with Putin. The French president's assertive stance underscores France's commitment to its nuclear deterrent and its willingness to defend against potential threats.
