Actress Sophie Turner has taken legal action to end her marriage with singer Joe Jonas after settlement talks between them collapsed. Turner has filed legal documents requesting that a judge finalize their divorce proceedings.
The former couple had put their divorce on hold while they attended mediation to resolve issues related to property and child custody. However, their attempts to reach an agreement were unsuccessful, leading Turner to request that a judge intervene. This means that all filings outlining their disputes will now become public.
One of the major points of contention between Turner and Jonas has been the custody of their children. Turner wanted to take the children to the UK, while Jonas preferred to keep them in the US. The disagreement became so serious that Turner had initially filed legal documents invoking a child abduction law, although she later dropped this action.
Despite having a prenuptial agreement in place, the couple has struggled to reach a permanent child custody arrangement. They had previously agreed to a temporary custody arrangement.
Both Turner and Jonas have moved on romantically since their split. Jonas is currently in a relationship with Stormi Bree, while Turner is dating Perry Pearson.
