Brymo Claims Burna Boy Doesn't Match His Musical Standard

Nigerian sonic artiste and songwriter, Olawale Ashimi Ọlọfọrọ, known as Brymo, recently stated that his colleague Burna Boy does not meet his musical standards. Brymo made this assertion on the Curiosity Made Me Ask show hosted by skit maker, Bae U Barbie, in response to Burna Boy's diss freestyle implying that Brymo has "fallen off."

Regarding Burna Boy's lyrics, Brymo remarked, "Is it not Burna Boy's lyrics? But he would like to know that nothing in this world would put his name in my song. He doesn't match my standard." Brymo also proclaimed himself as the "finest vocalist" in Africa, asserting, "I'm probably the finest vocalist on the continent. Better than anybody. I'm not thinking. I know this."

He also addressed the public's reception of his statements, stating, "And yeah, even Twitter guys can't disagree with him despite the hate. You can win an Award, but that doesn't mean you're the best man for that award."

Burna Boy had dissed Brymo during a freestyle with his band in October last year, after Brymo accused him of song theft, alleging that Burna Boy's songs 'City Boys' and 'I Told Them' sampled the title track of his upcoming album, 'Macabre.'

Brymo, known for his Alternative rock and Folk music, previously declared himself Nigeria's artiste of the decade, boasting about his music abilities and the success of his songs "Oleku" and "Ara," which enjoyed massive airplay. Despite being categorized by some as no longer relevant, Brymo continues to assert his prominence in the Nigerian music scene.
