CAF official dead after Fans go on rampage after 1-1 draw in Abuja

 

 

 

Nigerian football supporters lost their cool at full time on Tuesday after the 1-1 draw with

Ghana that saw Nigeria fail to qualify for the 2022 World Cup

Ghanaian players and fans were reportedly attacked and the newly renovated pitch of the Moshood Abiola Stadium vandalised as equipment and furniture were destroyed.

A journalist also confirmed that an Official of CAF lost his life amidst all these

 

He tweeted;

“CAF's Doping Officer for the game between Ghana v Nigeria, Dr Joseph Kabungo, has died after violence erupted after the match in Abuja.

It’s reported to have lost consciousness after he was beaten & stepped on as fans tried to make their way out of the stadium due to stampede.”
