Check out Ndidi’s replacement ahead of Ghana clash




The Super Eagles have announced the replacement of injured star player; Wilfred Ndidi.

Ndidi would be replaced by Lorient midfielder, Innocent Bonke who has been called up for the 2022 World Cup double-header against Ghana.


The announcement was made on the official handle on Twitter as they also wished Ndidi a quick recovery.


Ndidi picked up the injury during Leicester City’s Europa Conference League tie with Rennes last week,


“Camp update: Innocent Bonke has been called up as a replacement for injured @Ndidi25 for the #WCQ games against #Ghana. Get well quick Wilf,” the team tweeted.


Ndidi ‘s replacement, Bonke made his debut for Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde in September 2021 and he has played in seven league games since joining Lorient from Swedish side Malmo, in January.


The three-time African champions will take on the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, 25th March, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi, while the return leg will be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on March 29, 2022.
