President Tinubu Urges Foreign Investors to Report Bribery Demands in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has called on foreign investors to report any Nigerian official who demands a bribe from them before investing in the country. He made this statement during the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha, where he assured Qatari investors of Nigeria's readiness to accommodate and engage in business with them.

Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria is undergoing reforms, and any past obstacles or problems experienced by investors are now a thing of the past. He urged investors not to offer bribes to Nigerian officials, and if requested or taken, they should report the incident directly to him.

He stated, "Nigeria will no longer be defined by the past but by what we do now and moving forward." Tinubu assured investors of a conducive environment for investment, with free entry and exit of funds. He highlighted the government's efforts in strengthening the fight against corruption and insecurity, noting the appointment of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as National Security Adviser (NSA).

Tinubu's statement reflects Nigeria's commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in its business environment, aiming to attract more foreign investment and boost economic growth.
