VP Urges Nigerians to Express Grievances Responsibly

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to express their grievances over the country's hardships in a responsible and mature manner. Speaking at the 29th pre-Ramadan lecture organized by the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Muslim Alumni, Shettima emphasized that the current administration would have chosen easier alternatives to its recent policies if they were viable.

Represented by his special adviser on political matters, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the Vice President stated that the federal government had been forced to adopt certain policies that have a greater impact on the poor due to limited options.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by Nigerians, including the rising cost of living and skepticism about the country's economic prospects. However, he emphasized the government's commitment to steering the country in a new direction, despite the difficult choices that lie ahead.

Shettima highlighted the importance of constructive criticism and responsible expression of grievances. He appealed to Nigerians to support the administration's efforts to turn the country around, recognizing that progress requires difficult decisions and sacrifices.

The Vice President also acknowledged the upcoming Ramadan and the challenges it will bring for many Nigerians, indicating that the government is aware of these difficulties and is working to address them.
