Scripture Union Nigeria Urges Government to Reject Legalizing Lesbianism and Bisexualism

The Scripture Union Nigeria has called on the Federal Government and lawmakers to resist the pressure to legalize lesbianism and bisexuality. The union's National Chairman, Wilfred Onu, made this call at a press conference held at the union's headquarters in Samonda, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Saturday, March 17.

Onu explained that legalizing such practices poses serious dangers to the entire global race. He expressed deep concern about the acceptance of these ideas, which he described as unbiblical, contrary to the clear admonitions in the Holy Bible, and in disregard to laws that criminalize such conduct in several states of Nigeria, including the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, 2014.

The union reaffirmed its dedication to promoting traditional Christian values and principles, emphasizing that LGBTQ+ ideology is unbiblical, immoral, and appears to be founded on lies and a penchant for inhuman living. They called on the Christian community to uphold and advocate for God's love and redemption for all while rejecting LGBTQ+ ideology that contradicts the teachings of the Bible.

The Scripture Union Nigeria urged Christians and true lovers of humanity to defend the sanctity of family life and decent society, rejecting the harmful agenda of those promoting these ideologies. As a union mandated to serve children, youths, and families, they are committed to safeguarding their innocence from harmful influences and advocating for the preservation of traditional family values and marriage as defined in the Scriptures.
