Carlos Tevez Hospitalized After Experiencing Chest Pains

Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been hospitalized as a precaution after suffering chest pains. The Argentinian, currently in his second season as manager of Independiente, retired from his playing career in 2022.

Tevez, who enjoyed a successful 21-year career across five different countries, began his managerial journey with Rosario Central but left after just four months. He cited a desire to avoid politics within the club. He then took on the Independiente job and received a new contract after a promising start.

Independiente finished sixth in Group A of the Copa de Liga Profesional this season and are currently on a midseason break, with the second stage of the Argentinian domestic campaign set to begin on May 12.

Tevez, 40, was rushed to hospital on Tuesday evening and underwent tests in San Isidro, a town north of Buenos Aires. The initial tests yielded satisfactory results, but he remains under observation as a precaution. He will undergo further examinations as part of a general check-up.

The club released a statement confirming Tevez's hospitalization and stated that he will remain hospitalized until all necessary tests are completed.
