A newlywed wife, Amina Abashe, reportedly poured boiling water on her husband, Shehu Abdullahi, following a disagreement over her frequent phone calls with other men. The incident occurred in Kontangora Local Government Area of Niger State, as reported by LIB.
Shehu Abdullahi, speaking from his hospital bed at the Kontagora General Hospital, recounted the events. He stated that they got married two months ago after the death of his former wife. Abdullahi explained that his wife first attempted to stab him but he managed to disarm her. She then proceeded to pour boiling water on him.
Abdullahi mentioned that after their marriage, his wife refused to move into his house, and he had to go to her parents' house to address the issue. On the day of the incident, his wife called him to their house and informed him that she was no longer interested in the marriage, claiming to have someone willing to pay back his dowry. He also alleged that she was speaking to a man, suspected to be her boyfriend, on the phone during their conversation.
The husband expressed his anger over the situation, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the boiling water attack.
