Napoli President De Laurentiis Emotionally Prepares for Possible Victor Osimhen Departure

Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis has acknowledged that selling Victor Osimhen will be a deeply emotional moment for him and the club. The Nigerian striker, who signed a new contract last summer, has a release clause of around €120-€130m. Despite this, Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli in the summer, with clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in signing him.

De Laurentiis spoke about the situation at the FT's Football Business Summit, stating, "Osimhen has a release clause. That’s a lot of money. Money is Napoli’s latest problem. We have always made good purchases and will continue to do so in the future."

He added, "The problem is only sentimental, only emotional, because every time a player leaves it’s like saying goodbye to a child, but at the same time you’re happy even when he achieves success elsewhere."

Despite the potential emotional impact of Osimhen's departure, Napoli will likely focus on finding a suitable replacement and continue their tradition of making astute transfers. Osimhen, 25, has been in impressive form, scoring 11 goals in 15 league appearances for Napoli this season.
