Key Witness Details Alleged Diversion of Public Funds in Oyo-Ita's Trial

 


Hamma Adama Bello, Prosecution Witness Eight (PW8), testified in the trial of former Head of Service (HoS), Winifred Oyo-Ita, and others, revealing how public funds were allegedly diverted into private companies.

 The witness recounted before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, accusing Oyo-Ita and her subordinates of using companies like Slopes International Limited and Good Deal Investments Limited to fraudulently secure government contracts.

 The trial, led by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), involves charges of misappropriation, official corruption, money laundering, and criminal diversion of funds totaling over N3 billion.

The witness highlighted specific financial transactions and company incorporations, implicating the defendants in the alleged scheme. Investigations revealed transactions benefiting the defendants, including Oyo-Ita, who allegedly received funds from these activities.

 The witness further mentioned interviews with the defendants, chats from Oyo-Ita's phone, and other evidence gathered by the EFCC."
