Show promoter Paul Okoye has expressed concerns about the challenges facing Afrobeat music in 2024. In a post on his Instagram page, Okoye noted that, aside from Davido and Burna Boy, who have managed to secure a few shows this year, other artists are facing serious difficulties. He attributed these challenges to artists either overpricing themselves or facing poor ticket sales, putting them at a disadvantage.
Okoye appealed to Afrobeat singers to reconsider their pricing strategies in order to remain competitive in the industry. His comments shed light on the economic realities and competitive nature of the music industry, especially in light of the ongoing challenges facing live performances and events.
